Service Description

Who is this qualification for? This qualification is aimed at individuals wishing to gain the knowledge and skills required to enable them to provide effective emergency paediatric first aid. It is intended for learners such as parents and relatives, pre-school or nursery staff, toddler group volunteers, childminders and nannies, au pairs and foster parents, or anyone who has to deliver first aid as part of their role in either childcare settings or a domestic environment. How long will it take? To complete this qualification learners should expect to undertake 7 hours of learning, with a minimum contact time, excluding breaks of 6 hours. Topics covered Topics include the role and responsibilities of the paediatric first-aider and providing first aid for an infant or a child who is unresponsive and breathing normally. The qualification also covers how to administer first aid to an infant or a child who is choking or suffering from hypovolaemic shock and how to treat minor injuries. Assessment method This qualification is assessed by practical demonstration and multiple-choice theory test.

Cancellation Policy

These terms apply to bookings for our courses made via distance means (online, phone, or email). These terms do not affect your statutory rights. 1. Pre-Contract Information Before confirming your booking, we provide details about the course on our website or via email. This policy forms part of your contract. By booking, you confirm receipt of this information in a durable medium (e.g., email). 2. Booking Confirmation Bookings can be made online, by phone, or via email. A place is confirmed upon our written confirmation (e.g., email) after receipt of full payment. 3. Payment Full payment is required at booking unless otherwise agreed (e.g., invoices for organisations, payable within 30 days). We accept credit/debit cards, bank transfer, or other methods. Prices are in GBP and include VAT where applicable. 4. Your Right to Cancel (Cooling-Off Period) As this is a distance contract under the CCR, you have the right to cancel within 14 days starting the day after we confirm your booking, without giving a reason. To cancel, notify us in writing via email to brad@bm-secure.co.uk) We will confirm receipt. If you cancel within this period: - You will receive a full refund of all payments, without undue delay and no later than 14 days from your cancellation notice, using the original payment method (unless agreed otherwise). We will not charge for the refund. 5. Cancellations Outside the Cooling-Off Period If you cancel after the 14-day period • More than 21 days before the course start date: Full refund or free reschedule (subject to availability). • Between 7 and 21 days before: 50% refund. • Less than 7 days before: No refund; you remain liable for the full fee. Cancellations must be in writing via email to brad@bm-secure.co.uk. Refunds will be processed within 14 days using the original method. 6. Transfers You may transfer your booking to another date or person at least 7 days before the start, free of charge, subject to availability. Transfers less than 7 days before may incur a reasonable administration fee (up to £25) at our discretion. Transfers do not extend the cooling-off period. 7. Cancellation or Rescheduling by Us We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g., low enrolment, trainer unavailability, or force majeure). We will notify you as soon as possible and offer: • A transfer to an alternative date, or • A full refund. We are not liable for additional costs (e.g., parking, travel, accommodation).
